Installation Procedure for the PDM Clutch Sleeve TSK 32, 33, & 34 Repair Kit
For Mazda
- Remove original throw out bearing and fork.
- Clean transmission snout with solvent, carburetor, or brake cleaner.
- Using a piece of sand paper, emery cloth, or Scotchbrite ™, smooth the transmission snout of any burrs & clean again.
- Measure the length of the Transmission throw-out bearing support (aka, quill).
- If it measures approximately 2.1” INSTALL the supplied spacer prior to installing the TSK sleeve.
- If it measures 1.9” DO NOT INSTALL the supplied spacer.
- Slip repair sleeve over the transmission snout
- Make sure the back of the sleeve is tight against the transmission case. A slight tap on the shoulder may be required. Do not tap on the leading edge of the sleeve. This may damage it or cause the bearing to stick.
- Rotate the sleeve so the set screws are positioned so as not to interfere with the clearance of the fork.
- Tighten the setscrews, careful not to over tighten, so as to prevent cracking the transmission snout or deforming the sleeve. Loctite on the threads is recommended.
- Apply the supplied grease to the sleeve, the groove inside of the new throw out bearing, and the pivot ball on the transmission.
- Install the throw out bearing.
- Apply label to right strut tower.
