Note:
The following instructions cover the installation of the PDM Transmission Sleeve Kit (TSK) components only.
They do not include procedures for transmission removal, clutch assembly installation, or any other related drivetrain service.
It is assumed that the transmission has already been removed from the vehicle and that all clutch components will be installed separately in accordance with the manufacturer’s service manual.
Basic Installation Instructions
Preparation & Inspection
- Remove the old clutch release bearing and fork
- Inspect the quill (snout) for cracks or damage before proceeding. Do not install if damaged.
- De-burr the quill using brake/carb cleaner and Scotch-Brite.
- Clean thoroughly to ensure proper fitment.
Sleeve Installation
- Slide the sleeve over the quill until seated against the bell housing.
- If needed, gently tap into place using a punch on the shoulder of the sleeve only.
- Do NOT strike the leading edge of the sleeve.
- Do NOT use excessive force — the quill material is thin and can break.
- Avoid damaging threaded holes.
- Install set screws with blue Loctite and tighten evenly.
- Do NOT overtighten — overtightening can crack the snout at the set screw locations.
Lubrication
- Pack the inside grooves of the bearing with supplied grease (critical—grooves act as a reservoir).
- Apply remaining grease as a light film on the sleeve.
- Grease the fork pivot ball.
Reassembly
- Install bearing onto fork and reinstall assembly.
Final Steps
- Adjust clutch per manufacturer specifications.
- Attach the provided label to the right shock tower.
** BEARING SPRING CLIP MUST BE USED WHEN SUPPLIED WITH BEARING NO EXCEPTION!
If you are using an aftermarket clutch fork you will need to notch the back of the fork to allow the spring clip to be used
